Cinematic is just one way to describe Sagapool’s music, but it’s so much more. With its contagious joie de vivre and sweeping melodies, the Montreal-based sextet’s music is like rainbows for the ears: happy, fun and a brilliantly colourful mix of gypsy music, klezmer, ska, latin and folk rhythms and featuring guitar, double-bass, accordion, percussion, banjo, glockenspiel, Rhodes, violin, clarinet and piano. Defying categorization, Sagapool has created a joyfully dazzling repertoire that reflects the flavours of Montreal’s cultural mosaic.
