Imperial Theatre is pleased to continue to offer four shows in its 2016 | 2017 season especially geared toward our local school-aged audiences.

 

To order tickets for your class you must call the
Imperial Theatre Box Office at 674-4100

 

They will take your information and make sure that your school is booked for the show.  Wheelchair accessible seating is available, but limited. Please reserve these seats in advance at time of ticket purchase.

Cheques are to be made payable to Imperial Theatre Inc. Please do not mail cash. Credit card purchases are also accepted through our Box Office. Payment must be received two weeks in advance of show date. Once booked, seats are non-refundable.

 

Season 23 SHOWS:

Theatre New Brunswick: THE SNOW QUEEN

Snow Queen
Date & time: Monday, December 19 at 10am

Grades: 4 and Up

Performance length: 80 to 90 minutes

Cost: $6 per student (1 FREE for every 10 students for a Teacher/Chaperone)

Show info:  Recently popularized by the Disney film “Frozen,” The Snow Queen is one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most enduring tales. Thomas Morgan Jones adapts this classic fairy tale for the stage. A wonderful Christmas treat for the whole family.

Grades: 5 to 9

Performance length: 90 minutes

Cost: $6 per student (1 FREE for every 10 students for a Teacher/Chaperone)

Show info:  A theatrically eloquent performance unveiling the inner life of an adolescent girl. Using astonishingly expressive masks, the performer tells the story of Claudia’s relationships with her grandfather, her father, her father’s new girlfriend, and the school janitor who becomes her friend. For ages ten and up.

Date & time: Wednesday, March 1 at 10am

Grades: 9 to 12

Performance length: 55 minutes

Cost:  $6 per student (1 FREE for every 10 students for a Teacher/Chaperone)

Show info:  A sensitive, intelligent play for high school audiences. In a typical Canadian high school a student dealing with the challenges of being a Muslim girl who wears a Hijab meets a student dealing with the challenges of living with his mom while his dad’s in jail for beating her up. They both learn a lot.

Themes addressed in the show:  perception, religion, stereo- types, abuse, racism and generosity.

Grades: K to 4

Performance length: 55 minutes

Show info:  A joyful, playful dance performance for children ages four and up, Bedtime! captures the magic of imagination. This company, under Artistic Director Hélene Langevin, has travelled around the world bringing their delightful wordless work to children.
