To pave the way for a performance by Arlo Guthrie on Sunday September 30th, Imperial Theatre is hosting a screening of the avant-garde 1969 film, Alice’s Restaurant. The film stars folk singer Arlo Guthrie and was inspired by the popular song of the same name that he performed at Woodstock only days before the film’s release. Having the charm and feel of a homemade movie, this film has become a cult classic - perfectly capturing that American era of youth counter-culture.
If you are an Arlo Guthrie fan, be sure to see this film – the title song is no longer a part of Arlo’s setlists and will not be included in the stage performance.
